Welcome To Organic Mantra Fair Chakra

This is a nominal profit making eco-social business enterprise which was initially registered as ?Organic World and Fair Future? under the Office of the Company Registrar and in Cottage and Small Industry Office in Kathmandu. This venture was partnered and established in January 2008 with a group of people well experienced in Permaculture and Organic Agriculture, the core team of Nepal Permaculture Group, an NGO dedicated to the National Sustainable Agriculture and Permaculture Promotion Network. And, after experiencing a span of time, to streamline the clientele and to fill the gap between Organic products? consumers and Organic producers from the grassroot level, the separation with the NGO was needed and with a mutual understanding this Organic Mantra Fair Chakra and Caf Fine was registered in September 13, 2010 under the ministry of Commerce and Supply as a private firm, Regd. No. 94218/067/68, keeping the same location as its prime platform for both the consumers and producers as well as related organisations and similar associations. This new name was actually the first proposed name but since it was not very suitable one for the NGO level, it was overlooked and dropped then. Today, with the motive that ?may be we can not change the world, but we can definitely spread the message as the Mantra and with the Chakra referring to the circle and network of likeminded people and wheel of the time itself.

Background...

In Nepal Organic Agriculture was started since 1987/88 both systematically and scientifically. In 1989/90 after reviewing the past activities and achievements, people involved in Permaculture and Organic Farming found out that only with the formulation of better marketing policies for organic products would help uplift farmers' self respect and self-esteem. Consequently, based on this, it is an effort to strengthen and secure the extensive market reach leading to probable maximum growth of Organic Agriculture.

We are continuously being involved in Organic Farming investigation, establishment of resource centres, capacity building and training, dissemination of information, cooperation with farmers (exchange of organic farming techniques, progressive know-how of farmers' techniques, conservation and promotion of local seeds and crops and increasing organic products), network development, involvement in national and international level, dialogues for policies and policy making, orgnaic inspection and certification and market promotion.
